Whenever you think of the word pampering, “massage” is usually the first word that pops up; only because it is around-the-world known, used and loved as one of the quintessential forms to de-stress and relax, whether in the form of Swedish or Deep Tissue. Don’t worry, we’ll get to the differences of the two in just a few, just not before we also tell you that when setting up an appointment with us, you get the added bonus of the option of mobile massage therapy being offered on a professional portable massage table, all in the comfort of your own home and with relaxing music.
Now to the differences between the two most common means of massaging. Swedish Massage simply refers to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones — all while rubbing in the same direction as the heart’s blood flow.
Deep Tissue Massage
It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as lower back tightness, sore shoulders and necks that are stiff. Some of the same strokes are used as a classic massage, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of specific pain and tension.
So when booking a massage appointment either for yourself or a friend (did we mention that a massage treatment makes a great gift) think about which way, either the Deep Tissue or the Swedish, would be the one in which you would most want to partake.
