Permanent Makeup & Microblading Guidelines

At Anne Lelièvre Makeup & Beauty, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction. To ensure optimal results and a smooth experience, please review the following guidelines before and after your treatment.

Who Should Not Undergo Permanent Makeup or Microblading

Certain conditions may affect the healing process or the outcome of your treatment. Please refrain from scheduling if you have:

  • Active eye infections or conditions (e.i. conjunctivitis)

  • Severe allergies to pigments, soaps or disinfectants

  • Progressive skin diseases

  • Contagious or viral infections (e.g., HIV)

  • Heart conditions or severe liver/kidney issues

  • Congenital immune deficiencies

  • Insulin-dependent diabetes

  • Poor wound healing

  • Recent organ transplants

  • Pacemaker users

  • Recent cosmetic injections (Botox, Juvederm, etc. wait at least 4 weeks)

  • Current Accutane or Vitamin A acid treatment

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals

  • Anticoagulant medication users (e.i. Coumadin)

  • Active cold sores or severely dry/chapped lips

  • Recent beauty marks or scars

  • Sunburned skin

Pre-Treatment Recommendations

To achieve the best results:

  • Avoid Aspirin/Tylenol, alcohol or marijuana 24 hours before your appointment

  • Refrain from caffeine before your appointment

  • Eat a light meal before arriving

  • Avoid sun exposure or tanning for 1 week before

  • Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face

  • Remove eyelash extensions and contacts if receiving permanent eyeliner

  • Ensure lips are hydrated and free from cold sores for lip treatments

Post-Treatment Care

Proper aftercare is crucial for healing and optimal results:

  • Limit touching the treated area for 7 days

  • Gently cleanse the area with fragrance-free soap after 24 hours

  • Apply a thin layer of healing cream (e.g., Webber, emu oil) every 5 hours for 7 days

  • For eyebrows: Use unscented Aveeno cream morning and evening for at least a month

  • For lips: Apply unscented Nivea lip balm morning and evening for at least a month

  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment

  • Steer clear of activities causing facial sweating for 7 days

  • Apply a cold compress if swelling occurs

  • Allow any scabs to fall off naturally; do not pick

  • Avoid saunas, pools, sun exposure and tanning beds for 2 weeks

  • Use sun protection on treated areas before sun exposure

  • Avoid depigmentation products, peels or scrubs until 6-8 weeks after the final touch-up

  • Refrain from microdermabrasion, peels or laser treatments on the treated area

  • For eyes and eyebrows: Wait 5 weeks before dyeing lashes, brows or hair, or getting lash extensions or lifts

  • For lips: Avoid whitening toothpaste and use a straw when drinking for 1 week

Following these instructions is essential for achieving the best possible outcome. Neglecting aftercare may impact the shape, color and longevity of your treatment.
